2001 Awards

Julie Seat, Stillwater Jr. High School, received the OFLTA Lowell Dunham Award in February 2001.

Dr. Dorothy Day, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, received the OFLTA Alfred L. Gage Professional Service Award in February 2001.

Dr. Eunna Park, Tulsa, Oklahoma, received the OFLTA Friend of Foreign Languages in October 2001.  The foreign language faculty of Booker T. Washington High School nominated Dr. Park for her extensive contributions to their foreign language program.

Melanie Brinton, Broken Arrow High School, received the Oklahoma German Chapter of AATG Best German Teacher Award in February 2001

Marty Christopher, Woodward High School, was elected to the Board of Directors, SWCOLT, March 2001

Terri Nies, Mannford High School, was named District Teacher of the Year, March 2001  Terri Nies is the OFLTA President.

Suzanne Giordano, Spanish teacher at Summit Middle School in Edmond, received a Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award, Fall 2000

Jason Fritze, Norman High School, received the OFLTA Best of Oklahoma Award in March 2001

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2000 Awards to Oklahoma Foreign Language Teachers

Dr. Nadine Olson, Oklahoma State University, received the OFLTA Lowell Dunham Award in April, 2000.

Dr. Laura Walker, Tulsa Community College, received the OFLTA Alfred L. Gage Professional Service Award in April, 2000.

Desa Dawson, Del City High School, received the OFLTA Teacher Scholarship to study in Cuernavaca, Mexico. 

John Hansen, Latin teacher at Westmoore, was chosen District Teacher of the Year of Moore Public Schools in February, 2000!

Suzanne Giordano, Spanish teacher at Summit Middle School in Edmond, was named Summit's 1999-2000 Teacher of the Year!

Marty Christopher, German teacher at Woodward High School, received  the SWCOLT Excellence in Teaching - Secondary Award 
in Salt Lake City in March, 2000!

Patti Dalton, French teacher at Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, was named Charles Page High School's 1999-2000 Teacher of the Year!
