Compare these sentences. El libro es blanco. La tiza es blanca. Can you see two ways you can say "white"? Can you see two ways you can say "the"? Look at the nouns libro and tiza. El and blanco both describe libro. La and blanca both describe tiza. Compare these sentences: El libro es negro, anaranjado, rojo, verde, y azul. La regla es negra, anaranjada, roja, verde, y azul. When the noun ends in o(libro, cuaderno...), usually the words that describe it end in o. (But, see how this does not happen with words that end in l and e: like azul and verde.) El libro es azul. When the noun ends in a (tiza, regla...), usually the words that describe it end in a. (But, see how this does not happen with words that end in l and e: like azul and verde.) La tiza es verde. Scroll up to get back to the top.)
